ANTHROPIC [CONCRETE] ROCK TOUR – CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT IN GEELONG / WADAWURRUNG COUNTRY

Venture through the urban landscape and “unspaces” of central Geelong / Wadawurrung Country to collect Anthropic [Concrete] Rocks!

Occurring as a result of spillage, urban degradation, development and demolition, the Anthropic [Concrete] Rock is a fragment of the city and an artefact of the anthropocene that is now a permanent fixture in our geologies.

THE TOUR is an exchange with the city through conversation, participation and shared collection of concrete rocks. It activates a renewed awareness of the everyday landscape as a layering of material and ideas, and their potentials. The collected rocks were shared as a temporary intervention at Platform Arts Geelong, Third Space Gallery + Digital and around the Geelong CBD.

This project is funded by the Regional Arts Development through City of Gold Coast.

The Regional Arts Development Fund is a partnership between the Queensland Government and the City of Gold Coast Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.

This project is supported by Platform Arts (Geelong) and GENERATE GC, which is a City of Gold Coast initiative delivered in partnership with Tasdance and SITUATE Art in Festivals.
